Meat Izakaya Meat Bar New York
Strolling Around Yomitan Village
I occasionally drive through Yomitan Village, but I don’t often go out to eat or drink in the area ><
However, I discovered a place that caught my attention!!
Store Exterior
The store is located on the third floor of the building, but…
The way I took the photo (laughs) makes it hard to understand, doesn’t it? ><
I’ll use a photo of the store entrance provided by the store on Tabelog.
肉バルNY (読谷村/バル)★★★☆☆3.09 ■\団体様パーティー受付中!/読谷の広大な海×夕陽を眺めながら《肉料理》とお酒を楽しもう♪ ■予算(夜):¥2,000~¥2,999
As I followed the pleasant aroma up the stairs, I found the stylish entrance as shown in the photo!”

Store interior
The interior of the store is quite spacious, a surprise considering the exterior. From the counter, you can see all the seats, which makes it easy for the staff to promptly respond to customer orders.
There were many employees with different personalities, from the dashing staff member to the one with a warm smile. It was evident that they were all dedicated to creating a welcoming atmosphere.
I noticed a lot of American customers who live in the village, happily interacting with the Japanese guests. Watching this interaction was a delight and added to the joyful atmosphere of the place.
Bonus
It’s true that negative news tends to be highlighted more, especially in the case of problems related to military bases in Okinawa, and this is unfortunate. While these issues should be addressed, it’s also important to remember that there are many positive stories that go unreported. For example, many U.S. service members in Japan actively participate in volunteer work, contributing positively to their communities, but these efforts rarely make it into the headlines.
I can relate to this personally. I have a friend who is a U.S. soldier from Alaska. We met in a bar, hit it off, and ended up becoming good friends. We often hang out together outside of work. It’s interesting because, even though I don’t speak English fluently, we’ve still managed to communicate just fine. Through basic words and, when needed, the help of Google Translate, language barriers are really not as big of a challenge as people often think.
The point is, building connections and friendships across cultures is possible, even without perfect language skills, and often leads to positive experiences and mutual understanding. It’s a reminder that sometimes we should focus more on the good interactions and efforts people make rather than just the negative stories.
Recommended Menu
NY Steak 200g – ¥1,400
This steak is the best value for your money!!
To be honest, I’ve always been hesitant about ordering cheap steaks, but this one completely changed my mind.
It’s incredibly tender, and when you take a bite, the juicy flavors burst in your mouth—it’s absolutely delicious.
The steak comes with a selection of seasonings: A1 sauce, rock salt, and wasabi, so you can enjoy it however you like.
Basil Sausage – ¥600
This extra-thick basil sausage is a must-try!! When you take a bite, it pops and the mix of meat and juice blends together perfectly, with a subtle hint of basil aroma that completes the flavor.
It was absolutely delicious!!
I tried several other dishes as well, but the food was so good, and the conversation was so engaging, I completely forgot to take photos!
I’ve found a new way to enjoy Yomitan Village, and I’m seriously thinking about coming back regularly! (laughs)
