Taishu Yakiniku (A) Kinji-te
The place we’re featuring this time is…
[Taishu Yakiniku (A) Kinji-te]!
While wandering around Ichibangai in Okinawa City—a street I don’t often walk through—I suddenly caught the mouthwatering aroma of grilled meat.
Drawn in by the delicious smell, I followed my nose and kept walking…
And there it was! A glowing neon sign! The name?
If you ever find yourself walking through Koza Ichibangai and catch the scent of yakiniku in the air, this is definitely a place you need to check out!
Hearing that there were open seats, I wasted no time and stepped inside. The aroma here is absolutely amazing!
It seems like the theme might be Korean BBQ? The walls are decorated with posters for drinks like Chamisul and Makgeolli.
Now, let’s take a look inside the restaurant!
Interior View of the Restaurant
The combination of the silver-colored ducts and tables with the gray concrete walls creates a simple yet stylish atmosphere inside the restaurant.
And just a quick glance at the menu—wow, the drinks are so affordable!
Truly living up to the name of a “taishu” (casual and accessible) establishment with such reasonable prices!
MENU
※Prices are subject to change.
All-you-can-drink for just 1,100 yen per hour!! Even if you order drinks individually, the prices are unbelievably low (haha).
And get this—a mega highball is only 650 yen! Such an amazing deal!
Please don’t tell me my photo skills are terrible!! >.<
To be honest, I was completely defeated by the mega highball (haha).
And when I suddenly remembered to take a picture of the menu… well, this is the result (´;ω;`).
At Kinji-te, the 👈 mark on the menu indicates the level of spiciness you can choose for the marinade. Here’s how it’s described:
- Kanji-te (■□□)
- A mild spiciness with just a hint of chili flavor.
- Not spicy at all, mainly the aroma of coarse chili pepper.
- Douji-te (■■□)
- Slightly spicier, with added chili powder for a noticeable kick.
- Perfect for those who enjoy a gentle heat!
- Kinji-te (■■■)
- A fiery blend of coarse chili, chili powder, and red pepper.
- Recommended for true spice lovers!
Of course, I didn’t hesitate to try the Kinji-te level right away, so no need to worry about that (haha).
The moment we’ve all been waiting for—the tasting time!!
“Surrounded by garlic, good evening—it’s the tongue (tansan)!” (haha)
I quickly grilled it and dug in! Can you find tongue of this quality at such a low price anywhere else?
Honestly, it was delicious!
The thickness of the shimacho, roast, harami, and kalbi is absolutely irresistible!
I should have taken a photo of each plate individually >.<
Oops, you can see the ashtray in the bottom right… sorry, I’m an IQOS user (haha)!
Finally, the spiciest Kinji-te Kalbi!!
I ate it… yes, I ate it…
And it was absolutely amazing!! The perfect level of spiciness!! I wouldn’t call it “extremely spicy,” but it’s flavorful enough that you don’t even need extra sauce—it’s delicious on its own!
Note: I’m not exactly someone who can handle extreme spiciness, but it wasn’t spicy at all for me. Just really tasty!!
Of course, everyone has their own tolerance for spiciness, so I recommend starting with Kanji-te and working your way up!
